Reminders
Some phones put apps to sleep to save battery. These steps usually fix it. In the app you can also open this from Settings: "Not getting reminders?"
Not getting reminders on my Android phone
Allow notifications for Tsafan. Then set Battery to "Unrestricted" (or "No restrictions").
Not getting reminders on Xiaomi, Redmi or POCO
Turn Autostart on. Set Battery saver to "No restrictions". Turn on Lock screen notifications.
Not getting reminders on Samsung
Set Battery to "Unrestricted". Remove Tsafan from "Sleeping apps".
Backup & new phone
A backup is one file you can keep in Files, Drive or email to yourself.
How do I make a backup?
- Open Tsafan and go to Settings.
- Under "Your data", tap "Back up to a file".
- Choose where to save or send the file.
How do I restore my verses on a new phone?
- Install Tsafan on the new phone and go to Settings.
- Under "Your data", tap "Restore from a file".
- Tap "Choose a file and replace" and pick your backup file.
Restoring replaces your verses and progress on that phone with what's in the file. This can't be undone.
Practice & grading
New to memorizing Scripture? Read our guide to memorizing Bible verses.
How does practice work?
Each verse goes through short steps: Read & listen, Fading words, then Recite & check. In Fading words the verse loses more words at each of three levels, and the last level shows only first letters. In Recite & check you say the verse (or type it) and Tsafan checks every word.
What do Not yet, Almost and Got it do?
They tell Tsafan how well you knew the verse, and Tsafan uses that to decide when to show it again.
- Not yet: you'll see the verse again soon.
- Almost: it comes back in a little while.
- Got it: it comes back later, and the wait grows each time.
After Recite & check, Tsafan suggests a grade. You always choose.
Can I use it in Spanish and English?
Yes. Tsafan works in both languages. You can learn verses in English (BSB, WEB, KJV) and in Spanish (RV1909). See the Bibles page.
Is it free?
Yes. Free, no ads.
