Tsafan privacy policy
Last updated: 23 October 2026
Tsafan does not collect personal data. The developer has no servers that receive your information. The app has no account, no ads, no analytics and no third-party tracking, and it does not need an internet connection to work.
What the app keeps on your phone
- Your verses, progress, settings and reminders.
- An optional first name or nickname and a picture, used only for the greeting on screen. The name is never put in notifications.
- Your voice: if you use "Recite & check" and allow the microphone, your speech is turned into text by your phone's own on-device speech recognition. The audio is not recorded, saved or sent anywhere by Tsafan. If your phone does not have the on-device speech model for your language, the app asks you to download it through your phone's system, or you can type the verse instead.
- A photo you pick for a wallpaper: it is used on your phone only.
- Backups to a file: if you choose "Back up to a file", Tsafan creates a file that you save or share yourself. We never receive it.
Android device backup
Tsafan allows Android's own automatic backup (Google backup). If it is turned on in your phone, your verses, progress, settings and profile name may be included in your phone's Google backup. That backup is encrypted, stored under your own Google account and controlled in your phone's settings. The developer has no access to it. The bundled Bible texts are not included in the backup, because they come with the app. You can turn this off in your phone's backup settings.
Permissions
Microphone (for Recite only), notifications (your daily reminder), and photos (only if you pick one for a wallpaper). You can turn any of them off in your phone's settings.
Deleting your data
Uninstall Tsafan or clear its storage in your phone's settings. To remove a device backup, manage your backups in your Google account or phone settings.
Children
Tsafan can be used by children aged 7 and up. It collects no personal data from anyone, including children. It has no ads, no accounts and no sharing with third parties. The optional name stays on the device (and in the device backup described above). The microphone is used only for "Recite & check", with on-device speech recognition, and the audio is not stored.
